From the Principal

Last week the 2017 Year 12 class celebrated their final classes at MSJ. With lots of fun and frivolity the students spent some time reminiscing and sharing stories about their time at MSJ. The final event for the students was their Graduation Mass and Ceremony that took place on Tuesday 24th October.

At this ceremony I acknowledged the contribution that the class of 2017 have made to the culture here at MSJ. Throughout their time at MSJ they have been hard working, diligent, enthusiastic, intelligent and thoughtful. They have been enthusiastic about the arts, the environment, social justice and their faith.  They have been respectful, adaptable and have treated each other with dignity. They have been a group who have taken on many responsibilities and commitments that have really left an impression on the MSJ community. We wish them all the very best as they leave us and pursue the next stage of their life.

A wonderful VCE Folio Exhibition was held here at the College on Thursday 19th October. The work on display was first class. Clearly the students had worked hard all year in order to produce such amazing pieces of work. Congratulations to all students whose work was on display. A very big thank you to their teachers and to David Meilak and Mary Cassar for organising the exhibition.

At our College Assembly on the Tuesday 11th October we acknowledged the outgoing student Leadership Team and welcomed the 2018 team. I would like to thank all the 2017 student leaders for their commitment and involvement in so many aspects of College life throughout the year. In particular, I thank the College Captains, Matilda Murrihy and Olivia Kivlighon and the WAAM (Wellbeing, Arts, Academic, Ministry) Team for their commitment, leadership, vision and sense of humour.

I am very excited to announce the College Captains for 2018 are Elli Kyriazopolous and Dhriti Modi. Congratulations to Elli and Dhriti and to all the students who have been selected to be part of the Student Leadership Team for 2018.

The Year 12 VCE students have commenced their exams and we wish them all the very best over the coming weeks. We also wish our Year 12 VCAL students good luck as they begin to explore their future pathway.

All our students are in the process of completing course work and preparing for the end of year exams. It is important that students work in partnership with their teachers in order to finish the year positively and successfully.
