House Athletics Carnival

Although the day started with a low fog cover over Dolomore Oval, the MGSC enthusiasm was still present. Students walked in through the gates with smiles on their faces and decked out in their house colours from head to toe. The vast array of options to compete in ranging from high jump and triple jump to shot put and discus; track events  and, of course, the fun novelty events. There was definiately no shortage of house points to be awarded.

A number of records that were broken throughout the day. Congratulations to Jemmah Paton (Year 7) who broke the record for High Jump that was set in 2015; Zoe Cunningham (Year 11) who set a new triple jump record with a score of 11 mentres (was 10.83 set in 2002) and Emily Ryan (Year 9) who smashed the previous discus record from 2006 with her throw of 38.01 metres.

Thank you to those who came to support their daughters.  Students who have successfully qualified for the divisional level will be notified later in the term.

Well done to all students and thanks to all staff who made this a successful day.
