OUR CONCERT NEEDS MUMS !

THURSDAY OCTOBER 13. 6:30 PM

I AM WOMAN - CALLING OUT TO MUMS WITH A VOICE...

Our concert 'evolves' as the days go by and our music teachers would really like to try and make our concert a little 'interactive' by including a little audience participation....

By this we mean we are seeking any mums, aunts, grandmothers, etc to bravely step up on stage to support our choir in singing 'I am Woman' by Helen Reddy. You don't need to be an expert singer, just lend your voice to support our kids in the choir.

Desiree would dearly love any female parents, grandparent, aunt, etc who feels they could lend us their voice for this one song, please come along to at least one of the following little practice sessions below:

  • Tuesday 4th October  3.00 pm - 3.30 pm
  • Thursday 6th October 3.00 pm - 3.30 pm
  • Friday 7th October 3.00 pm - 3.30 pm

CONCERT TICKETS

Our concert tickets will go on sale approximately two weeks before the show (@ start of term 4). Information on prices and how to book online will be provided then. NOTE: if we are not yet up and running on XUNO, you will receive details sent home by hardcopy letter with your child.

SEATING LIMITS

Please be aware there may be limits on the number of tickets per family as the venue seats about 430 people. TO ENSURE ALL FAMILIES HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THE SHOW WE MAY NEED TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF BOOKINGS PER FAMILY. At this time you will most likely only be able to purchase 2-3 tickets per family. If you bring a toddler, the child will require a seat to be included in this number.

CONCERT DATE

Thursday 13th October. 6.30 PM - 8.00 PM

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY OF THE CONCERT?

  • Students go to school as usual on concert day and we’ll bus the whole school to the theatre late morning.
  • The children have lunch then stay at the theatre and complete a full rehearsal in the afternoon.
  • Students stay on with staff until the end of the show (@ 8.00pm). Parents are asked to provide their kids with the usual byo lunch andanother snack for the late afternoon (basically byo a double lunch on this day).
  • Parents don’t pick up children from school. Parents just turn up at the theatre and enjoy the evening show.
  • Parents collect their children at the end of the show @ 8 pm. In the past we have found some families like to collect their children and celebrate after the show, heading into town for dinner before going home. Others head straight home to put kids to bed after a very big and busy day...

FRIDAY 14TH OCTOBER

  • The following day is a normal school day. 8.50 am start as usual.
  • Parents can choose to send their children to school later in the morning if they feel a sleep-in and late start may be beneficial for their children.
  • Operations this day will focus on keeping a calm atmosphere for the kids as we anticipate some tired kids (and staff).
  • We will debrief about the concert and celebrate the great work the children have done with this project. Teachers will sort and pack away all the equipment and materials used in the concert.
  • A video will be produced after the concert, however this usually takes a week or two after the concert to produce and package.
