Kenita Bush, Year 11 at Huntingtower College (MITS Class of 2017)
Three words to describe me now:
Kind, funny and resilient.
Three words to describe me in 2017:
Brave, funny and responsible.
Best memory from MITS in 2017:
One night at MITS we were all fighting over shoes in the last room and wrestling each other. Lorraine came up and told us off and then we all started laughing.
Advice to younger MITS students:
Listen to your teachers and stay on top of your homework and don't get behind on it or you may feel pressure. I would also say you should all get out there and make new friends and have fun!
Highlight of time in Melbourne so far:
Going to Year 9 ski camp at Falls Creek and also Year 11 camp, even though I almost died on the first night it was an amazing experience!
Biggest challenge:
Being away from my sister and trying to keep up with the other students at my school.
Greatest achievement:
Staying in Melbourne for 5 years and not giving up.
Anyone to thank and why:
The boarding staff at Alumni Boarding House for having me stay here this year and Mr Rodney Jones the Indigenous coordinator at Huntingtower for always looking out for me and encouraging me through the years.
