INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

On March 8th Footscray City College students and staff celebrated Women’s International Women’s day by responding to the call  Be Bold For Change – Celebrating Australian Women’s Achievements. Students supported the notion by helping to assemble a display of pictures and information about Australian women from diverse backgrounds, lives and ages.  The women showcased in the display have been determined to overcome obstacles and setbacks, boldly achieving and leading in their selected fields. Learning about these women and their inspirational journeys calls on our students to reflect on how a more gender inclusive world will forge a better working world for all in the future.

Thanks to Anna Trinh, Zara Taipi, Sunday Cullip-Bartlett, Taryl Nguyen and Kathryn Riddoch for helping to distribute IWD badges and helping with the display which showcased the colours of International Women’s Day. Symbolically, white represents purity, purple for dignity and self-respect, and green stands for hope and new life.
