COME HERE AND SAY IT
On Friday 5th May, six of our talented students performed poetry in our library on various topics.
Jada Kyle - White privilege
Ellen Sharkey - The Waiting Room
Felix Briggs - Time thinking
Charlie O'Regan - Blossom
Jay Curtis - I'm a alien (intentional grammatical error)
Congratulations to them all for their creativity, profound reflections, thoughtful analysis of everyday occurrences and their willingness to perform in front of an audience which can be rather nervewracking. The next performance will be Friday 9 June.
GIRLS WRITE UP
Four of our students have been selected for the wonderful opportunity of performing at Girls Write Up, which is the schools' program for the Stella Prize . Girls Write Up is a daylong festival for teens aged 12–18 that teaches empowerment through writing and sharing stories. Our students will be paid to perform a team poetry piece with the provocation "Can art save the world?" They will also form a panel to discuss their creative process. Congratulations and good luck to Jada Kyle - Year 12, Abbie Liptrot - Year 10, Felix Briggs - Year 8 and Ellen Sharkey - Year 7.
