Nillumbik Division Cross Country Championships

Wednesday 5th June, 2019 ~ Bundoora Park

Congratulations to all members of our Cross Country team who competed at the Nillumbik Division Cross Country Championships on Wednesday 5th June at Bundoora Park. As always, the conditions at Bundoora Park were a bit cold, windy and grey to begin. Mother Nature must have been on our side this year as the rain remained at bay and the sun came out for a number of the races. What a terrific group of students to represent our school, the team was 16 members strong and each child present backed every other child. On what is always a difficult course, with hills and gullies, every member of our team gave everything they could to their races, some pushing through injury or discomfort to get their best result. Against a field of 40+, our students performed wonderfully. We congratulate all of our student athletes for their effort, determination and respectful competition. A special shout out to Archie Richards and Talia Southey who were prevented from competing due to illness however were missed in their absence and still very much part of our team.

Extended congratulations to those students who finished in the top twelve in their race and have qualified to advance and compete at the next level, the Northern Metro Regional Championships. The regional finals will be held on Wednesday 19th June, also at Bundoora Park, and those students advancing are: Greta Mullins (rsv), Charlie Howes, Isaac Mullins, Matthew Southey and Cameron Ellis.
