Wellbeing News

It is with great sadness that our community learnt about the loss of one of our own, Mrs Emma Trewella this week.  Emma will be remembered as a happy and friendly person with a warm smile. I am certain that Wayne, Hannah, Eliza and Ben will continue to be supported at this extremely difficult time and into the future.

This news has had an impact on staff, parents, students and families.  Teachers have spent time during morning prayer circle, talking with their students and providing them with an opportunity to express their feelings and to engage in support for each other.  We are aware that students may be carrying their own sadness and grief at this time.

You may see signs of sadness in your child after hearing of the loss of someone in the community as it makes some students realise the mortality and fallibility of those they love.  Please be mindful that how children experience, express and process grief will vary depending on their age, stage of development, understanding of death and past experience of loss. We encourage you to listen carefully to your child, answering questions openly and honestly.  When considering how how best to provide support, the information below gives further guidance.

May God bless the Trewella family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Guy Toomey.
