YEAR 3 - 6 News

Meet the ‘new’ 3 – 6 Teaching Team.

3 /4A – Teacher: Catherine McGarrity

My name is Catherine McGarrity, and I am from County Tyrone in Ireland. I have been a teacher for four years and I have always loved education, I remember lining up my teddies and teaching them to read as a child. Having grew up in a large family with 5 siblings I have always loved nurturing and caring for others and supporting them to grow. In my free time I enjoy exercising, baking, reading, and walking at St Kilda beach. I moved to Australia a year ago and have enjoyed all that it has to offer. I am very excited about joining the staff at WPS, from the moment I arrived at the school I could sense the warmth and welcoming ethos of the school. I am very much looking forward to becoming more involved in the community.

4 / 5A – Teacher: Orlaith Robinson

My name is Orlaith Robinson, and I am from County Armagh, Ireland. I moved to Australia in 2019 and have really enjoyed exploring lots of different places. I love cooking, reading and Irish dancing.  I was inspired by my mum to become a teacher.  She taught for 32 years and always had fond stories to share of her experiences. I taught prep in Ireland for 6 months before moving to Melbourne. Since moving here, I have taught a year 3 and 4 class before joining Windsor Primary School. The sense of community at WPS really drew me to the school and everyone has made me feel so welcome since I started here. I am very passionate about helping children grow, not only as learners but socially and emotionally as well. I am really looking forward to getting to know you all throughout my time at WPS.
