Bring along your $1 coins and enjoy a fresh cinnamon donut after school on a Friday afternoon at the Food Tech Window. Even purchase a few more to take home to the family for a yummy dessert!

TOASTIES TUESDAY LUNCH ORDERS

Thank you to Denise and Vanessa B for cooking the toasties every single Tuesday and a thank you to Courtney, Mickie and Vannesa F for preparing the toasties each week. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without Woolworths Prahran, who donate all the supplies we use to make the toasties every week.

This term all the profits from toasties will pay for some amazing sporting equipment that will be used during sport classes and at lunch times. The equipment has arrived and below are some snaps of what was purchased.

CADBURY CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER

We have some Cadbury Variety Jumbo Boxes and are looking for parents or carers who could possibly do some fundraising for the school by selling chocolates in their workplaces. Can you help us out with this? Please contact Elaina on 0407 431 429 for further information.

MARKET DAY IN MAY

Last Friday 12th we held our first-ever Market Day in May, and judging by the turnout and feedback from the night, it was a big success!!

Firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you to all of the 30 students (and parent support systems) who enthusiastically participated in the market with their own stall; selling a variety of items from homemade art and crafts, to second-hand books and toys, yummy baked goods, and the very popular lucky dip. The effort that you all went to was amazing, and everyone on the night was very impressed.

A big thank you as well to all of the parents and staff who helped out on the night, from our BBQ volunteers, to our bankers, and those who did some heavy lifting of tables, we couldn’t have done it without you.

We really appreciate everyone who was able to make it on the night and support our stall holders, the feeling on the night was one of community and school spirit, and we hope you all enjoyed your evening.

Lastly, we would also like to thank our sponsors: Woolworths Prahran, Woolworths South Yarra, Coles Prahran, Mediterranean Butcher (Commercial Road Prahran), and Yo-Chi. Next time you’re out doing your shopping, maybe consider their ongoing contributions, and support our sponsors!

Apart from having a fun night out, the great news is that the Market Day in May raised a total of $2113.60. These funds will go directly towards establishing our Edible Community Garden that will be utilised by our cooking programs at the school – an amazing effort from all involved!!!

We would also like to thank Coles Prahran for their generous weekly donation again in Term Two. Some of the support staff and parents are running some small cooking classes each week which we hope to expand and continue in the future. Amber and the team at Coles Prahran have happily offered to cover the cost of purchasing the ingredients each week. We are so appreciative of their constant support to WPS.
