Principal's Report

Getting back to the old with something new.  Last Friday afternoon’s May Market was such a success in a number of ways.  Firstly, it allowed the Windsor Primary School Community to gather again, the way we remember them.  Community gatherings are slowly returning to pre-COVID status and events like this help.  It was wonderful to see so many people attend.  Secondly, it was great to see how students, parents/carers and friends worked together to prepare and sell their items (and what a diverse range of items we had). Thirdly, everyone had so much fun, whether it was spruiking and selling, wandering from stall to stall or eating the delicious food.  Lastly, it was a new idea we were trying, and everyone responded so well.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise the event, the families who participated and the community members who turned up to support the students and the school.

We are quickly approaching our handover date for the Hornby Street building, and we are very excited.  This project has been so successful in maintaining the historic features of the building and completely modernising the internals to meet current standards, in particular - infrastructure, light and acoustics.  The office and reception area will a big change that people will notice.  Something that we all can see is the work being done at the front of the school. This includes a disability ramp to the front door, a new landing area, a new gate close to the Bendigo Terrace corner, pathways and lawn.  The final piece of the puzzle will be the planting plan for the front of the school. Very exciting.
