Dear Parents

I hope that all the fathers, grandfathers and father figures of our St Francis Xavier community enjoyed a blessed father’s day, surrounded by those most dear to them. It was lovely to meet some of you at our Father’s day breakfast.

New Saints

On Sunday 7 September,  two new saints were canonised by Pope Leo XIV! 

St Pier Giorgio Frassati and St Carlo Acutis, young men from the north of Italy, were officially recognised for their heroic virtue and declared saints.

Family and Faith Afternoons

To celebrate this occasion, we will be holding a series of Faith and Family afternoons, where parents are invited to join their children for an afternoon of faith, community and craft. We will learn more about the life of St Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint, and what his faith and example can teach us today.

We will begin with Kindergarten, on Thursday 18th September, 2:15pm in the Kindergarten classroom. We invite Kindy parents to join us.

The following Thursday 25th September, we invite parents of Year 1 children to join us in the year 1 classroom at 2.15pm.

Vinnies Outreach Day

A final reminder that our next Vinnies outreach day this term will be held on Friday September 19th. The day involves food preparation, making of snack and toiletry packs, and other general duties as needed. We will be visiting the Lewisham branch from 10-1. Playgroup

Our Playgroup continues  on Thursday mornings, from 9-10:30 in the school hall. I look forward to welcoming all  preschool aged children, together with their parents, grandparents and carers for a morning of play, craft and storytime.
