Wellbeing News

We unfortunatley have limited SEL lessons this term due to so many interuptions on Fridays, so we are trying to make the most with what we have got.
This week is SEL we focused on a few key things that have been popping up in the playground or in the classroom.
In Prep: We looked at the difference between a dobber, and a reporter. This was a fantastic chat with the Preps as we sometimes can forget what is very very important to tell the teacher, and what we can manage on our own.
We now know that DOBBERS are trying to get someone IN TROUBLE and REPORTERS are trying to get someone OUT OF TROUBLE and to stay safe.
In 1/2: we looked at how we can be kind to others, and how it can effect people when we dont do kind actions.... even if it is small. We focused on being BUCKET FILLERS. Bucket fillers do small kind actions to others or themselves to help keep their buckets full. A simple "Good Morning", "how are you", or "I like your drawing" can fill a bucket that might need it. We also talked about small actions like not listening, not including or saying negative words can empty buckets..... we dont want to be BUCKET DIPPERS.
We completed a task in our books and then created our own bucket to stick on our tables, so our friends can leave kind messages, pictures or jokes for us to read and fill our bucket.
NO SEL FOR SENIORS DUE TO CROSS COUNTRY.
See you all next time !!!!
Miss Jess :)
