Years 3-6 Classroom - Poetry Writing
Students have spent the last few weeks delving into their inner-lyricist, exploring all things Poetry. They have been learning about different poetic techniques, devices and styles of poems.
They have produced their own Poetry Portfolio, which includes the following poetry styles;
- Haiku: 3 lines with a 5-7-5 syllable structure.
- Colour Poem: Focuses on one colour using the five senses
- Limerick: 5 lines with an AABBA rhyme scheme
- Diamante: A 7-line diamond-shaped poem
- Cinquain: A 5-line unrhymed poem with a specific word-count pattern.
- Ode: A tribute poem praising a specific person, object, or idea
