Reminders & Homework

Some important requests from home:

  • In week 4, students will be completing a family tree and will need help identifying names and relationships prior to this.
  • In week 6, children will be bringing home a list of interview questions. These will be used to interview their older family member or friends  about their school lives and record their responses. The questions and students' written responses should be returned by Week 7.

The Homework expectations for this term are:

  • Hearing your child read their take home book every night or morning. Your children will be given 5 books each week: 3 whole language books and 2 decodable books, focusing on differentiated phonics goals. A significant investment has been made to purchase new decodable books and we would highly appreciate them being returned every week. Please keep the books in your child's red reader bag as we use them frequently to run in-class activities.
  • Please continue to use the comprehension questions sent home last term.
  • Revising our learning of counting and skip counting from last term and playing Michael Minas Love Maths games.
  • Consolidating students' numeracy in real life situations (for example cooking, shopping, reading maps, noticing shapes and patterns, playing counting games etc)

Kind regards,
