Choose Your Own Adventure Stories

Grade 6 Sassafras have been working on writing their own ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ stories. They started with an idea for a story and gave the reader 2 options. This, in turn, led to further options as the storyline developed. In the end, each story has 8 different endings, some of which are positive and some negative. They are currently in the process of publishing their story on Google Slides and making their choices into interactive buttons. When the stories are read, the reader will be able to make a choice by clicking the button and follow the story. They will be able to reread the story, clicking on different options so they will get a different ending. Here are some of their cover slides. 

Optical Illusion Art

In Art, we have been looking at optical illusion art (also called op art). We explored two artists, Bridget Riley and Victor Vasarely, and looked at the way they create optical illusions. Use of lines - straight, wavy and curved - alongside shading can create optical illusions. We have been working on two optical art pieces - 3D Hands and Pop-up Spheres. Here are some examples.
