What was your first day at School/GEPS like?
- I started GEPs in term 2 of 2022 - I had come from being at another school after almost 5 years there, and had spent the time on K-2. My first day at GEPS was a mixed bag of feelings. As I didn't start at the start of the school term I felt nervous and excited, because I didn't know anyone. Nothing was familiar to me, nor was the Granville area in general. I was told I would be on Stage 2, which also added to my anxiety. As the day went on I felt welcomed and met a lot of beautiful students and teachers and parent alike.
What are 3 words to describe your school Journey?
- Learning - I am always, everyday learning and upskilling, changing and evolving.
- Momentum - I feel even though I can start slow I build momentum to get into the groove!
- Flourishing - With momentum and growth on this journey I feel like there are days where I am flourishing and feel successful and joyful!
What is something new you've learned this year?
- I've always been a patient and empathetic person, and with this I can feel pressure, anxiety and hurt. Something I am learning and developing, is resilience. Resilience in teaching and learning, resilience in life and adulting - Resilience.
If your learning journey was a vehicle (rocket, bike, boat etc) what would it be and why?
- A train - you can catch many trains from different points and stations and sometimes it's express and other times it's all stop. Change is a moving train and opportunities are at each train station.
If you could go on an adventure anywhere, where would you go and who would you take with you?
- I love travelling and hiking, anywhere and every where! An adventure I would like to go on is to my parents homeland islands in Indonesia. Indonesia is an archipelago of islands, hundreds and thousands! I would immerse myself in the culture and my people, there is so many different dialects in Bahasa so I would love to learn a few words and phrases for both parents - and I would take my husband.
