Relieving Principal's Message

As we move through another exciting and busy term at Granville East Public School, it has been wonderful to see our students embracing every opportunity with enthusiasm, resilience and school spirit.
This week the school has completed annual NCCD data collection. This is a routine process and does not impact your child or require any actions from families.
A highlight of the past fortnight was our Athletics Carnival. It was fantastic to see so many students giving their best in every event while displaying excellent sportsmanship and encouraging one another throughout the day. A sincere thank you to all of our parents, carers and family members who came along to support our students. Your encouragement and involvement help make these special events such a success.
On Monday, our students were treated to the energetic and inspiring Backflips Against Bullying performance. The show was an enormous hit, delivering important messages about kindness, resilience and standing up against bullying in a fun and engaging way. It was wonderful to see our students so involved and reflecting on the positive ways they can make a difference in our school community.
We also celebrated 100 Days of Kindergarten on Friday 7th August, where our youngest students enjoyed a range of fun activities centred around the number 100.
The coming weeks are filled with exciting events and learning opportunities. On Monday 10th August, our Kindergarten students will eagerly welcome the arrival of their classroom chicks, always a favourite hands-on learning experience!
Families are warmly invited to attend our upcoming Years 3–6 Open Morning on Wednesday 12th August, followed by our Stage 1 Open Afternoon from 2:30pm the same day. These events provide a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the fantastic learning taking place in our classrooms.
Thursday 13th August is our SRC Fundraiser - Silly Sock Day!
Our Scholastic Book Fair will be held on Friday 14th August, with families welcome to browse and purchase books/items from 8:30am–9:00am, while students will have the opportunity to visit during recess and lunch. Every purchase helps support our school library and encourages a lifelong love of reading.
We also wish the very best of luck to our students representing GEPS at the Zone Athletics Carnival on Friday 14th August. We know they will represent our school with pride and determination.
Other exciting events coming up include our:
Gold Badge Assembly - Monday 17th August
Stage 3 Camp from 19th–21st August
Finally, we are looking forward to celebrating Book Week with our annual Book Week Parade on Wednesday 26th August at 9:15am. Families are warmly invited to join us as students dress as their favourite book characters and celebrate the joy of reading. (More information on this event will be shared soon)
Thank you for your continued support of our school. We look forward to sharing these wonderful experiences with our students and families over the coming weeks.
Mrs Homaira Faghani
