Public Speaking
Early Stage One
Congratulations to our four Early Stage students who were selected to represent their classes at the Public Speaking Finals — Anaya, Sumayah, Hugo and Rihana. All four students demonstrated exceptional public speaking skills, confidence and courage as they stood before a large audience to deliver their speeches. They presented their prepared speeches with confidence and embraced the challenging task of delivering an impromptu speech on the topic of a party. A special congratulations to Hugo, who was awarded Highly Commended, and to Rihana, who was declared the overall winner!
We are incredibly proud of all four students for their outstanding efforts and the way they represented our school. We wish Rihana all the very best as she goes on to represent us at the Georges River Network Finals. We will be cheering you on!
Stage One
Congratulations to our wonderful Stage 1 students who participated in the Public Speaking Finals: William, Harla, Jake, Ella, Elissa, Phoenix, Chanel, Nikole, Sean and Felicity. Our finalists did a fantastic job presenting their prepared speeches before taking on the challenge of an impromptu speech on the topic ‘Favourite Places.’ Each student showed great confidence, creativity and courage when speaking in front of an audience. A special congratulations to Elissa, who was awarded the Stage 1 Winner and to Felicity who received Highly Commended. Well done to all of our Stage 1 finalists on a fantastic achievement!
Stage Two
On Wednesday 9th September, our Stage 2 students showcased their confidence, communication skills and courage at the Stage 2 Public Speaking Finals. Congratulations to Emily, Lucas, Aleeya, Sheena, Aaliyah, Anna, Matthew and Sophie, who each delivered an impressive prepared speech before putting their speaking skills to the test with an impromptu speech. It was wonderful to see our students speak with such confidence, expression and enthusiasm. A special congratulations goes to Anna, who was named our Stage 2 Public Speaking Champion, and Aaliyah, who received a Highly Commended award. Thank you to Mrs Dalton and Mrs Partridge for judging the competition and supporting our students throughout the event. We are incredibly proud of all eight finalists for their preparation, perseverance and willingness to step outside their comfort zones. What an outstanding achievement!
Stage Three
Congratulations to our Stage 3 public speaking finalists: Adam, Harper, Samhita, Abbas, Darren, Alessia, Jerry, and Anushi. Each finalist delivered thoughtful, prepared speeches on a variety of engaging and passionate topics before being challenged to prepare and present an impromptu speech within five minutes on the topic "Help." The decision was a very difficult one for our adjudicators. Congratulations to our winner, Harper, and our runner-up, Samhita. Harper will represent our school at the network finals in Week 10. We wish Harper the very best of luck.
