Bonds Road Pedestrian Gate

To ensure the safety of our students, the pedestrian gate on Bonds Road features an airlock system and must not be secured in an open position, as this is against regulations. As a result, the chain that was previously used to keep the gate open during morning and afternoon times has been removed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but student safety remains our top priority.

Canteen Update

We wish to inform our school community that Margaret has resigned from her position at the canteen, effective immediately, due to personal reasons. We sincerely thank Margaret for her hard work and dedication and wish her all the best for the future.

In the meantime, Giovana and Susie will be managing the canteen to ensure continued service until a suitable replacement is appointed. We appreciate your understanding and support during this transition.

Student mobile phones at school

The NSW Department of Education Student Mobile Phone Management Plan has been implemented across the NSW Department of Education since the beginning of Term 4 2023.

At Peakhurst PS we implement the policy by using the strategy of having mobile phones stored in the office, to reduce the distractions to students in the classroom.

The mobile phone ban applies during all school hours, including break times such as lunch and recess, as well as while students are on school-organised excursions. Students are still be able to carry their phones while travelling to and from school.

Please work with the school to increase focus in classrooms, remove distractions and promote positive social interactions in the playground by directing your child/children to place their phones in the office on arrival to school.

Removal of demountable classrooms

Our two demountable classrooms have now been removed from the Greenlands Avenue site, creating a revitalised grassy area for our school. Over the coming weeks, we will be undertaking maintenance works to nurture and promote healthy grass growth.

We sincerely thank the families and neighbouring residents who worked with the department to ensure the safe removal of these buildings from our school grounds.

Taking a holiday?

For holidays 6 days or more, parents and carers can apply for extended leave for travel through the NSW Department of Education using the official application forms, with approval required from the school principal.

Applications should ideally be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start date of leave and travel itineraries or e-tickets to support the application.

Extended leave (travel or holiday) application and certificate

Summer Uniform

As we move into Term 4, students will be wearing summer uniforms. Claudine Schoolwear Revesby will be open throughout the Sep/Oct school holidays except Monday 5 October public holiday. More information on the attached flyer.

School holidays and Term 4

As we approach the end of Term 3 on Friday 25 September, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to everyone in our school community for a safe and enjoyable holiday break. I hope the coming weeks provide you with a chance to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with loved ones.

We look forward to welcoming all students and staff back for Term 4, which will commence on Tuesday 13 October. I am excited for another term filled with learning, growth, and opportunities.

Enjoy the holidays and see you all soon!
