Year 4 Hoop Time
By Adele Sylvester
On Wednesday the 13th of May, Grade 4 students and some Grade 6 helpers travelled to MSAC to represent BPS at the Hoop Time basketball tournament.
The students demonstrated many PYP Learner Profile traits both on and off the court. They were risk-takers as they challenged themselves against other schools, especially considering most of the students had never played basketball in a competitive environment before. It was inspiring to see students’ fairness, honesty, and respect throughout each game. Most importantly, they were caring and encouraging of one another, especially during the grand final games as they cheered on fellow BPS classmates.
Unfortunately, our All-Star teams did not win their Grand Finals but the All-Star Girls team had us on the edge of our seat with a nail-biting finish.
We are incredibly proud of the teamwork, resilience, and positive attitudes shown by all students involved. We thank all the grade 6 helpers and parents who enthusiastically took on the roles of coach on the day.
Well done BPS!
