Health Centre News

Dear Parents and Carers,

As temperatures drop, it’s important to work together to keep our school community as healthy as possible. One of the most effective ways to do this is by keeping your child home when they are unwell. We understand that managing illness at home can be challenging, however we truly appreciate your efforts and diligence in keeping everyone safe and healthy.

🤒 When Should You Keep Your Child Home?

Children often catch common illnesses, especially in primary school settings where they are in close contact with others. Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the following:

  • Fever (temperature over 37.5°C)
  • Coughing or sneezing that is persistent or severe
  • Vomiting or diarrhoea (keep home for at least 24 hours after symptoms stop)
  • Sore throat, especially if accompanied by fever or swollen glands
  • Rashes that are unexplained or spreading
  • Conjunctivitis (red, itchy, or oozing eyes)

Keeping your child home helps prevent the spread of these illnesses to classmates and staff.

💪 Let’s Work Together

By keeping sick children at home, we protect not only their health but also the wellbeing of their classmates, teachers, and our wider school community.

Let’s all do our part to keep our school a safe and healthy place to learn and grow!

Warm regards
