Staff Professional Learning – CPI Training

This week a number of our staff have completed Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training, further strengthening our commitment to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

The training focused on the principles of Care, Welfare, Safety and Security, which underpin positive and respectful interactions with students. Staff developed skills in verbal interventions, helping to de-escalate challenging situations through effective communication, as well as safety interventions that prioritise the dignity, well-being and rights of every child.

This professional learning equips staff with practical strategies to support students in times of distress, build positive relationships and maintain safe learning environments where all children can thrive.

Seasons for Growth Program

This term, a number of students have been participating in the Seasons for Growth program. Seasons for Growth is a small-group program designed to support children and young people who are experiencing significant changes or losses in their lives, such as family separation, moving house, friendship changes, the loss of a loved one, or other life transitions.

Through discussion, activities and reflection, students learn that change is a normal part of life and develop skills to understand and manage their feelings, build resilience, and strengthen their support networks.

We are grateful to be able to offer this valuable program, providing students with a safe and supportive environment to share their experiences, connect with others, and continue to grow in confidence and wellbeing.
