On Wednesday the 4th of June, our Year 3 students participated in a First Eucharist Retreat Day at James Sheahan. On this day, the students played games, sang songs and learnt all about the Sacrament of First Eucharist. The day was led by James Sheahan teachers and students and was attended by students from Catherine McAuley, St. Mary's, St. Joseph's Molong and St. Joseph's Manildra. From all accounts, it was a great day!

On the same day, our Year 4 students participated in their Retreat Day in Kenna Hall. The focus for the day was Mary, the Mother of God. The day began with attending the Parish Mass at the Church and then a session faciliated by the Missionaries of Charity. In this session, the children acted out the most important parts of Mary's life and said a decade of the Rosary, focussing on the Joyful Mysteries. The children then went on to learn all about why Mary is called the First Disciple. We ended the day by making our own decade of the Rosary for the children to take home. There was lots of singing and dancing! It was a fun day!

Last week, our Year 5 students attended a Praise and Worship event at St. Mary's School. The day was presented by Fr. Rob Galea. The children had a great day learning about Fr. Rob's faith and life, aswell as singing and dancing. What a fabulous opportunity for our students!

Students are asked to bring along ONE item to contribute to the Vinnies Winter appeal as an act of "Kindness in Action." Vinnies are hoping to receive donations of tinned food, eg tinned fruit, vegetables, fish, beans, spaghetti etc and packets of pasta, rice and noodles.
Students will take their item to their Peer Groups this Thursday afternoon to contribute to the hampers for Vinnies.
These food items go to people who are homeless, economically disadvantaged and others in need. How wonderful for us to be able to support this worthy cause.
If items are brought in earlier than Thursday they are to be kept in the classroom until the day. We thank you for your continuing support.
We congratulate the many children from our school who made their First Holy Communion over the last two weekends. This was made even more special by some of our students making their First Holy Communion on the Feast of Corpus Christi - the solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ on Sunday the 7th of June. Thank you to the Teachers and parents who prepared our students for this most important Sacrament.
