School Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to everyone involved in making yesterday’s Athletics Carnival at Walcha Central School a success. The day was filled with sportsmanship, effort, and community spirit. A huge thank you goes out to all of our students for participating and giving their best in every event. We also extend our gratitude to the parents, families, and supporters who came along to cheer, as well as the staff members who helped out in any way to ensure the day ran smoothly. The carnival could not have happened without this collective support.
A massive congratulations goes out to our incredible athletes who shattered school records at yesterday’s athletics carnival! In the Senior Girls division, Josie delivered a phenomenal performance to set a brand-new record in the Discus. Our 11 Years Girls also had an unforgettable day on the field and track; Lucy demonstrated incredible strength to establish a new school record in the Shot Put, while Phoebe put on a spectacular show, breaking school records in both the 200m sprint and the Long Jump.
The action is not quite over yet, as tomorrow the final event of the carnival, High Jump, will be conducted on the top playground. The competition will begin with the Seniors and 11 Years Olds jumping from 9:00 am. The Juniors will then commence their event at 10:00 am, and the Juveniles will take their turns jumping after Mass at 1:00 pm.
Following the completion of the high jump, we will hold our official presentation ceremony at 2.30pm under the COLA. During this event, we will announce all of the age champions and runners-up, as well as the House Champion for the carnival. Additionally, we will reveal the students who will be representing St Patrick's Primary at the Armidale Catholic Schools Athletics Carnival at Tamworth early next term. Good luck to all our high jumpers tomorrow.

St Patrick's Primary Sports Handbook
St Patrick's now has an official sports handbook, which has recently been updated following our school swimming carnival. Additionally, the handbook has now been revised to include the new records set by Josie, Lucy, and Phoebe at yesterday's athletics carnival. This book is designed to give all members of our school community a clearer understanding of when our various sporting carnivals are conducted. It also outlines the processes and qualifying times required for students wishing to represent our school at Diocesan sporting events, alongside an explanation of the representative sporting pathways your child can undertake in their respective sports.
