Celebrating the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Tomorrow, the Church will be celebrating the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This feast day is a time for the global Catholic community to focus on and honour the love, compassion, and divine mercy that Jesus Christ holds for all of humanity. It is traditionally observed on the Friday following the second Sunday after Pentecost, a timing that connects the love of Christ with the gift of the Holy Spirit. To mark this special day, our school will be coming together to celebrate Mass, allowing the students and staff to participate in this tradition through prayer and reflection.
This feast day also holds a deeply personal place in Mr Hyatt's heart, connected to a cherished family memory. When the official announcement was made that Mr Hyatt was to become the principal of Sacred Heart Primary School in Boggabri, his grandmother presented him with a very significant gift. She passed down a portrait of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which carried its own rich history. The portrait had originally been given to his grandmother on her wedding day as a special gift from the priest who conducted her marriage ceremony.
Prayer
Dear Jesus,
We thank you for your Sacred Heart,
which is always filled with endless love, kindness, and mercy
for every one of us.
Help us to share that same love with our families,
our friends, and our school community today.
When we face challenges,
remind us of your gentle care,
and guide our hearts to be more like yours.
Amen.
Celebrating the Sacrament of First Holy Communion
Congratulations to Campbell and Thibaud, who celebrated a milestone in their faith journey by receiving the Sacrament of Communion for the first time. This occasion took place on Sunday during our parish celebration of Mass, where they were supported by their families and our parish community. The parish congratulated both boys as they took the next step in their spiritual lives.
The celebrations continue for our school community tomorrow, Friday 12th June. We wish the best to Angus, Freddie, and Jack, who will also be receiving the Sacrament of Communion for the first time during our school Mass. Please keep these students and their families in your thoughts and prayers as they mark these milestones.
School Mass at 12.00pm tomorrow!
Tomorrow, Friday 5th June, the school community will gather to celebrate Mass at St Patrick's Catholic Church.
The service will commence at 12:00 pm. All parents, families, and parish members are warmly invited to attend and join us for this special celebration.
