Merger of Catholic Parishes

On Thursday July 1 the Catholic Parishes of Apollo Bay, Cororooke and Colac, including Lorne, Birregurra and Pirron Yallock, will merge and become Emmaus Catholic Parish - Colac, Lakes to Coast. Fr Andrew said this week that the merger, similar to what has happened in most parishes in our diocese, will allow for greater cooperation and support among communities. Church names will remain the same. Mass times will remain the same. Mostly the same, just more love to give!

Refugee Week, the Feast of the Sacred Heart and our Winter Appeal

This week we acknowledge Refugee Week (15–21 June), with World Refugee Day celebrated on 20 June. These important occasions invite us to reflect on the experiences of refugees around the world and consider how we can show compassion, welcome and support to those seeking safety and a new beginning. As a Catholic school community, we are called to recognise the dignity of every person and work towards creating a world where everyone feels valued and included.

Congratulations to the following students who recently completed the Sacrament of Reconciliation through our parish program: Zane J, Asher D, Jesse L, Ava H, Zara H, Harry G, Maverick L, Lilly H, Billie N, Hattie V, Miles A, Hazel W, Flynn S, Lachy A, Dustin Y, Maisey T, Gabriel T, Imogen E and Molly H.

We congratulate these students on taking this important step in their faith journey and thank their families for supporting them throughout their preparation.

Next Friday the 26th of June, the final day of term, we will celebrate our Feast of the Sacred Heart. Families are warmly invited to join us for a special Liturgy . This is a wonderful opportunity for us to gather as a school community and celebrate the love, compassion and service that are at the Heart of our school.

A reminder that our St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal will continue until the end of term. We would greatly appreciate any donations of items to support those in need within our local community. Please refer to the attached list for suggested donation items. Thank you for your generosity and support.
