Colac Division Soccer
Congratulations to our teams that competed in the Colac Division Soccer last Wednesday at the Central Reserve, they all did very well and should be very proud of themselves. Sacred Heart Black were the overall winners on the day, and will now progress to the Greater Western Soccer, tomorrow 17th June in Ballarat. Congratulations to: Solomon, Carter, Sid, Declan, Bernie, Logan, Luke, Toby, Louis, Bill, Harry and Oscar. The bus to Ballarat will leave Sacred Heart at 8:15am and will return at approximately 3:50pm. Students will need to wear their sports uniform, bring along their soccer gear (tops will be supplied) and long socks. Students may need to bring a towel and spare clothes (forecast predicts lots of rain).
A big thank you to Dave, Shantelle, Cody for coaching on the day, and to the Trinity boys who umpired.
Colac Division AFL 9’s Football
Congratulations to our Boys AFL 9’s Football team who will now progress to the Greater Western Regional Event on Wednesday June 24th at C E Brown Reserve, Wendouree. Congratulations to the following players who progress to the Regional Finals – Toby M, Oscar M, Thomas W, Louis F, Bill F, Harry K, Luke M, Sid R, Jack W, Solomon C and Levi K. We wish these boys all the best at the Greater Western event.
Colac Division Boys/Mixed Netball
Well done to our two teams that competed in the Colac Division Boys Netball event yesterday at the Eastern Reserve. Both teams made the finals, but unfortunately were defeated on the day. Our boys were wonderful ambassadors for our school, showing great sportsmanship, resilience and team spirit throughout the day. A big thank you to Nicole M and Leesa F for coaching on the day and to Kate T for running the event. Thanks also to the Trinity students who umpired.
Colac Division Girls ‘AFL 9’s’ Football
The Colac Division Girls ‘AFL 9’s Football took place yesterday at the Colac Central Reserve. Our girl’s team did very well, and only went down by one point to St Mary’s. They thoroughly enjoyed the football event, filling the day with lots of giggles, encouragement and fun. Their positive energy and team spirit made it a memorable experience for everyone involved. A big thanks to Ash B for coaching and to the Trinity students for umpiring.
Winter Sport Round 1
The first round of the Winter Sport Competitions for our Year 5 and 6 students will take place on Friday 26th June at Sacred Heart. This will commence at 10:00am. The students will compete in the following sports – football, netball, badminton, soccer and hot shots tennis. We look forward to welcoming Elliminyt to our school.
Auskick and Superkick
Next term, AFL House will be running an Auskick and Superkick program at Sacred Heart on a Wednesday night from 3:30 – 4:30pm. This program is available for all students. More information can be found on our community page in the newsletter.

Name: Matilda V (Year 6JF)
1. What sports do you play? I play netball and basketball.
2. What has been your favourite sport to play? My favourite sport to play is netball.
3. What’s your favourite position to play and why? My favourite position in netball is Centre (C) because I love running around and being involved all over the court.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was receiving the Most Valuable Player trophy in basketball.
5. What skills do you think you’ve improved the most? In both netball and basketball, I think I have improved my defending skills the most.
6. Who is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sporting teams are the Melbourne Vixens netball team and the Collingwood Football Club.
7. If you could play sport with any famous athlete, who would it be? If I had the chance to play sport with a famous athlete, I would choose Melbourne Vixens player Zara Walters.
8. What’s your pre-game routine or lucky habit? My pre-game routine is practising my goal shooting before the game begins.
9. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and teammates would describe me as funny, supportive, and a great team player.
10. What makes a good sportsperson? A good sportsperson is someone who works well as part of a team and always shows good sportsmanship.

1. What sports do you play? I play cricket, football and enjoy fishing.
2. What has been your favourite sport to play? My favourite sport to participate in is fishing.
3. What’s your favourite position to play and why? My favourite position in football is ruck rover because I get to run a lot and try to win the ball first from the ruck contest.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was winning the Junior Champion Fisherman award three years in a row.
5. What skills do you think you’ve improved the most? In fishing, I have improved my casting accuracy and precision.
6. Who is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sporting teams are the Koroit District Fishing Club and the North Melbourne Football Club.
7. If you could play sport with any famous athlete, who would it be? If I had the chance to play sport with any famous athlete, I would choose North Melbourne footballer Brent Harvey.
8. What’s your pre-game routine or lucky habit? My pre-game routine is eating raw noodles.
9. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and teammates would describe me as a talented sportsperson who is very patient.
10. What makes a good sportsperson? A good sportsperson is someone who is fair, respectful and selfless.

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are cricket and football.
2. What has been your favourite sport to play? My favourite sport to play is cricket.
3. What is your favourite position to play and why? My favourite position in cricket is bowling because you get the chance to bowl the batter out and take a wicket.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I got my first trophy.
5. What skills do you think you have improved the most? The skill I have improved the most is my bowling. I have become more accurate, which helps me get closer to the wickets.
6. Who is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sporting team is the Australian Cricket Team.
7. If you could play sport with any famous athlete, who would it be? If I could play sport with a famous athlete, I would choose Mitchell Starc because he is a fast bowler for the Australian Cricket Team.
8. What is your pre-game routine or lucky habit? My pre-game routine before a game is to practise my bowling all morning before the game starts.
9. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coaches and teammates would say that I am a very good sport who always tries their best.
10. What makes a good sportsperson? A good sportsperson is someone who is always kind and gives everyone a chance.
