TeamKids

As we wrap up another exciting and engaging term at TeamKids Wollert PS, we are proud to share some of the highlights from our program. This term has been filled with creativity, connection, and plenty of fun, with children actively shaping their experiences each day.

Building Connections & Community

A major highlight this term has been the strong friendships and connections formed across the program. Children bonded over shared interests and engaged in meaningful interactions through play, conversation, and shared experiences.

Hit activities:

  • Board games like Mastermind and Jumanji, encouraging teamwork and thinking together
  • Collaborative sets like Minecraft blocks, magnetic tiles where children worked together, negotiated roles, and supported one another
  • Leadership roles during clean up and mat time

These experiences have supported a strong sense of belonging, with children learning to include others, share ideas, and build friendships.

Creative Arts & Construction

Creativity has truly shone this term, especially through the use of recycled and open-ended materials. The children have shown incredible imagination and problem-solving skills while creating their own projects.

Hit activities:

  • Building fairy houses using cardboard boxes
  • Designing and creating a cardboard pinball machine
  • Making paper houses for character cutouts
  • Printout activities featuring favourite characters like Spongebob, Kuromi, and more

These experiences have allowed children to express their individuality while also collaborating and sharing ideas with peers.

Physical Play & Movement

Outdoor play has been a big favourite this term, with children eagerly participating in group games and active experiences. These activities have supported teamwork, resilience, and lots of fun!

Hit activities:

  • Octopus and tiggy games
  • Air hockey (even when the batteries ran out, the fun continued!)
  • Group dancing sessions to favourite songs

Children have shown great sportsmanship, turn-taking, and enthusiasm while staying active and engaged.

 Children’s Voice & Choice

This term, we have continued to prioritise children’s voice, ensuring they feel heard and involved in decision-making.

Hit moments:

  • Children suggesting a variety of food options for the menu and brainstorming for new activities every month
  • Choosing their own play spaces and activities that they want to take part in
  • Increased engagement during our cooking club with almost 50 children every week
  • Wall decorations completely made by children

We’ve seen that when children are actively involved in decisions, their participation and excitement grow significantly.

Food & Wellbeing

Food continues to be an important part of the children’s experience, not just for nourishment but also for connection and routine.

Favourites this term:

  • Spaghetti and Meatballs for afternoon snack
  • Food made by them in cooking club
  • Ongoing interest in contributing ideas to the menu

Children have enjoyed sharing their preferences and being part of the conversation around food.

This term has been a wonderful reflection of what makes our program special—creativity, connection, and child-led experiences.

For families considering joining TeamKids Wollert PS, we offer a welcoming and engaging environment where children can explore their interests, build friendships, and feel a true sense of belonging.

We look forward to another exciting term ahead!
