Grade 3/4 Learning Update

It’s been a busy and productive term in the Grade 3/4 classrooms, with students engaging enthusiastically in a wide range of learning experiences.

In Mathematics, students have been building their understanding of addition and subtraction, applying a range of strategies to solve problems with confidence. They have also been exploring fractions, developing their knowledge of how parts make up a whole.

In Literacy, students have been working through the Talk4Write approach to develop their writing skills. Earlier in the term, they focused on fiction writing and have recently begun their persuasive writing unit. As part of this, students are currently learning how to persuade an audience to enrol in The Superhero Institute, before creating their own unique pieces.

Students have also been strengthening their word study skills by revising long vowel sounds, alongside developing their understanding of parts of speech, including nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs.

Students have also been building their skills in using and reading maps, developing their understanding of how we navigate and interpret spaces around us.

The students have been incredibly busy and should be proud of the effort they’ve put into their learning. It has been a fantastic start to the year.

A big thank you to the Grade 3/4 team for their ongoing hard work and dedication this term. As we approach the end of term, we wish all our families a safe and restful holiday.
