Boarding Life in Term 4
Term 4 is always an exciting time in Residential at WACOA - Cunderdin. With our Year 12 students having completed their studies, our Year 11 students are stepping into leadership roles and helping to shape a positive and welcoming boarding community.
As students begin to "Step Up" as future College Leaders, there is a great sense of responsibility, connection, and enthusiasm across the College.
The Residential Planner was distributed to parents via COMPASS today. Developed by the Residential team in consultation with students, the planner reflects student interests and ideas while making the most of our smaller boarding numbers and the warmer weather. It includes a variety of activities designed to encourage students to connect, participate, and enjoy all that Term 4 has to offer. We encourage families to support and motivate their students to get involved.
Halloween Dinner – Monday 2 November
Our kitchen team is already preparing for what promises to be our biggest and most spooktacular Halloween celebration yet! Students and staff are busy planning their costumes, and there will be plenty of prizes on offer for those who embrace the Halloween spirit. We look forward to an evening of fun, laughter, and community spirits
(pun intended!).
Skippers Ticket Opportunity
We are pleased to be offering students the opportunity to gain their Skippers Ticket early next year, with training scheduled for 13–14 February 2027. We are fortunate to once again be supported by Craig Bates from Mandurah Boat Training, who will deliver this valuable qualification and practical boating knowledge to participating students.
Students are required to have, as a minimum, their Learners license and be prepared to do the online study prior to the practicals on that weekend. Cost is approximately $320 per student. Please email Miss KV an EOI for your student and she will be in touch early next year.
New Medication Procedures for 2027
To align us with all WA Residential Colleges and best practice, we are asking that all daily medication and multiples of supplements be Webster packed, starting first day back in Term 1.
While we appreciate that this is an extra cost to parents, we are asking that you assist us to maintain the highest standards of boarding practice.
Cunderdin Pharmacy are very happy to assist all parents with this at a very reasonable cost (depending on medication amounts). Please call Leh on 9635 1497 to start planning. Thank you to the parents that Mr Lee and Miss KV have already spoken to.
Leavers Jumpers 2027
The design is complete and a big thank you to our student led design committee for such great work.
Students will start trying on the sizing kit over the next week and have to come up with the name they would like on the back. Parents will then be sent the link to Reform Clothing where they will be required to approve order and pay. Any questions please don't hesitate to call KV.
