Greetings from Stage 3 Camp!

Greetings from Stage 3 camp, where things are a little soggier than we might have hoped, but certainly no less adventurous! Despite the wet conditions, students have thrown themselves into the challenges of abseiling, raft building, high ropes and canoeing. It has been wonderful to see them embracing new experiences, stepping outside their comfort zones and making the most of their time together. I’m particularly encouraged to see the way the students are cheering one another on, celebrating their efforts and mixing across the whole group.

Next week, it will be Stage 2's turn for an overnight adventure at Bungawarra. For some students, this will feel comfortable and exciting, and for others, it may be a little more challenging and confronting. These experiences are an important part of growing up as young people learn to navigate unfamiliar situations, build confidence, support one another and discover that we are often capable of more than we first imagine.

Back at school, our Initiative Games have brought another fantastic opportunity for students to learn together. In partnership with Wild Ed, our senior students have been challenged to lead younger students through a series of games and activities that require lateral thinking, problem-solving and teamwork. These experiences are as much about developing leadership, patience and communication as they are about solving the challenges themselves.

There has been plenty happening beyond camp, too. Some grades have been enjoying dance lessons, while preparations are already underway for the much-anticipated Year Six Fun Day later in the term. It is wonderful to see the excitement building as students look forward to the opportunities and celebrations ahead.

It is an action-packed start to the term, and we are heading into what promises to be a wonderfully busy and fun-filled period in the school calendar. There will be plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, celebrate and make memories along the way. We look forward to sharing more of these moments with you over the coming weeks.

Finally, a quick reminder that we have chapel services on alternate weeks at both campuses now. One week there is an assembly, and the following week there is a chapel service. On Monday 26 October, Mr Catto will be leading chapel services at both campuses.
