Start of Term 3 2024

The first week of term has been a positive one and it has been wonderful to see our students back at school. Due to the wet weather we have had to close the oval and basketball courts on a number of occasions, but are hoping the weather improves so our students can utilise our wonderful facilities more fully. A big thank you and congratulations to students for there positive return and approach to work and school life.

Child Safety

One of the biggest challenges in the area of Child Safety that we all struggle with is Social Media. This has created a massive amount of issues for our young people and their safety. To facilitate a conversation between parents/guardians/carers and student,s and to learn some tips from Teachers, Parents and Students there will be a Zoom Parent and Student session on Wednesday 28, August 2024 at 7.00 pm.  The Zoom link will be provided closer to the date of the event.  We think this will be a really good opportunity to listen, share, learn and plan, as a family, around the issue of social media safety.

We really hope you are able to join us on-line on Wednesday, 28 August 2024.  

Year 12 Drivers

During the second half of the year we have more Year 12 students turning 18 and obtaining their Driver’s Licences. For our Year 12 students to be able to park on campus they need to obtain a Nazareth Parking Permit from Mr Duckett’s office and abide by the safety agreement we have with our student drivers. Students, please come and collect the paperwork to complete to obtain a Parking Permit from Mr Duckett’s office if you have your licence and are driving to school.

Key Dates

As we look ahead please be aware of the following important dates for your planning:

  • Monday 29 July 2024:  House Athletics Carnival (all day).
  • Thursday 1 August 2024, 6.00 pm - 8.00 pm: Careers Expo and Subject Selection Evening at the College.
  • Thursday 15 August 2024, 10.00 am - 11.00 am:  Whole School Mass for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. 
  • Friday 16 August 2024:  Year 7, 2026 Enrolments close.
  • Friday 23 August 2024: Free Dress Fundraiser.
  • Wednesday 28 August  2024,  7.00 pm - 8.00 pm: Zoom Parent Meeting Social Media Safety  (link to be provided closer to the date).
  • Friday 30 August 2024, 7.30 am: Father's Day breakfast for Years 10-12 (and their dads/father figures) in Cafe Naz.
  • Monday 9 September 2024: 9.45 am - 10.55 am, Whole School Mass, Nazareth Mass.
  • Thursday 12 September 2024: Nazareth Day all day.
  • Friday 13 September 2024: 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm, Year 10 Social at the College. 
  • Tuesday 17 September 2024: Years 7-10 Student Progress Meetings (via Zoom), 4.00 pm - 7.00 pm.  
  • Thursday, 19 September 2024: Students conclude classes for Term 3, 2024 at 1.35 pm.
  • Thursday 19 September 2024: Years 7-10 Student Progress Meeting (via Zoom), 3.00 pm - 7.00 pm.  
  • Friday 20 September 2024:  Staff Reflection Day. No students, no classes.
  • Monday 7 October  2024: Term 4, 2024 begins at 8.40 am (Day 6). Summer school uniform is to be worn by all students. 

Communication

We are continually humbled and privileged to be able to work in partnership with parents/guardians/carers, the first educators of your child. For this partnership to be strong we need to communicate. We invite you to please contact the relevant staff member should you have any questions, concerns or points that might be good to share so that we can better care for and educate your child.
