Congratulations to Avery who was successful in making the Wide Bay Girls 10-12 Cricket team! Avery went to Maryborough on Monday to trial for the 10-12 year Wide Bay Girls Cricket Team. She was one of 12 selected from 27 girls. There were girls from Gympie, Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, North Burnett and even as far as Mackay. The Wide Bay team will compete at the State Championships in September over 4 days. She was the only Gympie player (boy or girl) to earn a spot on a Wide Bay. Congratulations Avery! 

Athletics

Congratulations to Cook who were crowned 2026 Athletics champions! Well done to Oxley though who competed hard. It was an exceptional two days with all students showing terrific sportsmanship along with excellent athletic skill.

A huge thankyou to Amy and all the volunteers in the Tuckshop, we really appreciate your generosity and hard work. Thankyou to Swooping Magpie Coffee for answering a late call to ensure we had coffee. Thankyou also to all Staff for their but in particular, Mr Robin Coombs and Ms Maria Cummings for their grounds preparation and set up. Also, to our amazing HPE Teacher, Mrs Yas Stephens for all her work in preparation and ensuring things ran perfectly.

Also well done to our two record breakers. Garry tied a high jump record for 9 years boys at 1.06m. Harry M set a new 9 years discus record of 7.37m.
