Wellbeing News

At SMDP, our Buddies program is a highlight of the week! Every Friday, the Yr 6 students and their Prep buddies gather to have some fun and do some special activities. The children really enjoy engaging with each other and it’s great to see how well they collaborate!

A huge thank you to Nicole, Nell and Ally for providing the children with this special time each week!

Another initiative we have at SMDP is our Student Voice Committee.

The members of our committee have an important role in sharing information with their classes and relaying ideas back to the staff. Their voice is respected and valued in our community.

A recent topic they researched was the redesign of part of our playground.

Here is an example of their research into what colours our students would like to see on the court and some extra features that would be fun! Thanks to our representatives for collecting this data for Elise to help her make a decision.

Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability.

The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured.
