SMDP Maths Fluency Fun Friday is on its way and we’re excited to come together as a whole school to celebrate our love of numbers. Students and teachers will be dressing up in maths‑themed outfits, Numbots characters, or Times Tables Rock Stars as we dive into a full day of games, challenges and hands‑on activities designed to build fluency, confidence and joy in mathematics.

The day will feature a vibrant dress‑up parade, an engaging STEM challenge, and a series of class rotations that highlight the fun and creativity of number learning. At 2:30pm, families are invited to a parent session exploring how we teach maths at SMDP, followed by classroom visits at 2:40pm, where you can join in and play some of our favourite fluency games.

Mark the date the 7th of August in your calendar and start planning those costumes. We can’t wait to see the creativity and enthusiasm across our community.

Every student will also take home a personalised maths showbag filled with resources to support learning at home. During the morning parade, we’ll be celebrating students who have reached special fluency milestones, a wonderful moment to recognise effort and growth.

We’re looking forward to a joyful day filled with learning, laughter and number play as we launch Semester 2 with energy and excitement.
