Learning Power Award Recipients

Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for demonstrating one or more of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday, during our whole-school assembly, the following students were acknowledged, and their learning was described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Week 8
PA	Meraia	For your collaboration and excellent turn-taking skills, as you have shown wonderful patience during our Buddies lesson with the Year 6s. You did a fantastic job playing dominoes and cards, waiting beautifully for your turn and sharing so kindly with your buddy Darlene. By being such a cooperative partner, you set a magnificent example for all your peers to follow. Well done, Meraia!
PN	Sarah	For being a collaborative learner who has a positive attitude and is excited to learn new things! You listen carefully to feedback and use it to get even better every day. You’re a great team player, always ready to help your friends and work together with others. Keep-up the great work Sarah!
1C	Aveer	For showing wonderful resilience and determination in writing. At the beginning, you found writing tasks challenging, but you have continued to persevere and never given up. You are becoming more confident to ask for help when you need it and always try your best when you face a challenge. Your positive attitude and willingness to keep learning show great courage and growth. We are so proud of the effort you put into your writing every day.Well done, Aveer!
1M	Aryan	For being a motivated learner. You came to the carpet with a big smile on your face, ready to learn each day. You asked thoughtful questions to improve your learning and made a strong effort to stay focused during class activities. Your positive attitude and determination helped you to make the most of every learning opportunity. Keep it up, Aryan ⭐️
2E	Szechna	For being a learner who consistently demonstrates resilience in the classroom. You show determination during Maths tasks, always trying your best and never giving up when you face challenges. You are willing to ask for help when needed, work through problems step by step, and then apply your learning independently. We are so proud of the way you persevere and complete your tasks. Your resilience is also evident in your writing, where you have worked hard to create a variety of fairy tale stories and develop detailed information reports and slideshows. You also show a kind and caring heart by supporting your classmates. We are very proud of your effort and positive attitude towards learning. Well done, Szechna—keep it up! 🌟
2A	Zachary	For showing incredible motivation towards your learning, especially in writing. Your determination and focus has improved and I have noticed you coming into class ready to work and showing a positive attitude. The effort you’ve put into your work has been brilliant to see and these past two weeks you have been striving to improve and reach your goals. Keep up the amazing work, Zach.
3/4LM	Patline	You bring laughter, energy and enthusiasm to our classroom every single day! You are engaged and always share stories and ideas and whenever you come across a challenge, you tackle it with perseverance. Patline, thank you for shining your light in 3/4LM!
3/4K	Shrenil	For being a motivated learner while publishing writing for your learning slideshow. You used a range of tools and strategies to help you complete the task successfully. You also made responsible choices by selecting a workspace that supported both your learning and the learning of those around you. Keep up the fantastic work, Shrenil!
3/4S	Elijah	You have shown incredible work ethic and consistently followed instructions. Your ability to adapt to new routines and continue to try your best has been amazing to see! Elijah, you are a great leader.
6N	Aoife	For being a resilient learner during our Math lessons. Your growth mindset while learning about fractions and decimals has been a joy to observe. Through your determination and consistent effort, you have demonstrated significant growth in both your mathematical skills and your confidence as a learner. Keep up the great work, Aoife.

Week 10
PA	Austin	This award goes to you for being a collaborative learner. You consistently encourage your peers, listen beautifully to their ideas, and always include everyone in group activities. It is wonderful to see how you are also a reflective learner who is always looking for ways to grow your learning by seeking feedback to make your work even better. Thank you for your hard work, Austin.. Well done!
PN	Kabir	For being a learner who consistently demonstrates resilience and a growth mindset in the classroom. You focus during our explicit teaching time and apply that same determination to your independent tasks, successfully growing your maths thinking. In Literacy, you take the initiative to sound out words, draw and write, showcasing the qualities of a learning chameleon. Your kind words and big smile support everyone in our classroom and make Prep N a stronger learning community. We are so proud of you, Kabir!
1C	Olivia	For showing wonderful resilience and growth in Literacy. You have become more confident in finding key information in texts and now approach challenges with a calmer and more positive mindset. Your determination to keep trying, even when tasks are difficult, has helped you make excellent progress. We are very proud of your efforts and perseverance. Keep going, Olivia!
1M	Greeshna	For being a motivated learner last week. When you wrote your information report about dingoes, you used the facts in front of you to help you. This shows you know how to find information and use it to keep going on your own. You stayed focused and tried hard to work independently. Well done Greeshna, keep it up!
2E	Noah	For being a creative and motivated learner. Your creativity was clearly shown when you designed and built a 1:1 guitar model, applying your understanding of vibration and sound. It is wonderful to see your motivation to keep creating musical instruments using what you have learned. You consistently produce high-quality work across all learning areas, especially in Maths, where you confidently solve problems and take on challenging tasks. You are always willing to extend your learning and work hard to improve. You are also a supportive and helpful member of our classroom, always assisting your peers. Excellent work, Noah. Keep it up! 🌟
2A	Isabelle	This is for a motivated learner who stays focused and engaged in every lesson and always tries your best to complete your work. You show kindness by helping your classmates and being a supportive friend. It has been fantastic to see your enthusiasm during Inquiry, particularly when working in a small group to create your instrument and sharing special items from home with the class. You have finished the term superbly, and we are very proud of all that you have achieved. Well done, Isabelle!
3/4LM	Sia	For tackling your timetables with incredible grit and enthusiasm. You have been working so hard to learn your timetables and have shown such a positive attitude toward your homework booklet. We are so proud of how much growth you have made in this area. Sia, you are unstoppable!
3/4K	Izzy	For being a reflective and motivated learner this week while working on your information report. You thoughtfully used modelled examples and checklists to review your draft, identifying areas for improvement before beginning to publish. You have set an excellent example for our class of what it looks like to drive your learning. Keep it up!
3/4S	Neelah	For being a great leader in the classroom and an exceptional learner. You have demonstrated resilience in the classroom by trying your best and listening carefully to your feedback. You have been a great partner during our fluency reads and our during our turn-and-talk routines. You help make our classroom an exciting place to learn in. Well done Neelah!
5M	Mehar	For showing resilience during our maths lessons not only this past week but this whole term.. You have tackled challenging tasks with determination, asked for help when you needed it and responded well to feedback. Even when plotting decimals on number lines seemed daunting you continued to persevere and now you have mastered it. It has been great to see your confidence and love for maths grow this term. Keep up the positive mindset, Mehar! 🌷✨
5A	Amelia	Amelia has shown outstanding resilience, always giving her very best—and a little bit more—throughout last week's assessments and She demonstrated great courage when presenting her Three-Way Learning Conversation slideshow to the class, even though it was outside her comfort zone. Keep using your positive mindset when tackling challenges and continue being a wonderful role model for others. Well done, Amelia!
6N	Priam	For being a reflective learner while preparing for your Three-Way Learning Conversation. You carefully reviewed your learning achievements, identified areas for growth, and set meaningful goals for Semester 2.
