Dear Parent/Carer,

The 2026 Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now underway and St Brendan’s Primary School is excited to be taking part!

This year’s Challenge theme is ‘Stories to discover. Stories to tell’. Stories can inspire and challenge us and help us grow. They open our eyes to new worlds and new ways of thinking. 

During the Challenge, a student will read a certain number of books that are suitable for them. While the number of books can be varied for a student, the general guidance is:

• Foundation  to Year 2: Read a total of 30 books, with 20 or more of those books from the Challenge book list.

• Year 3 to Year 9: Read a total of 15 books, with 10 or more of those books from the Challenge book list.

   

All children who complete the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and former premiers.
