Hello everyone,
We have had another action-packed fortnight in PE, highlighted by our 5/6 students representing the school with fantastic pride and energy at the Winter Lightning Premiership. Our teams competed fiercely across Netball, Soccer, and AFL 9s, showing excellent teamwork, respect, and resilience against some tough competition. A huge shout-out to our Mixed Netball team, who played exceptionally well to finish 1st in our school division. Whether celebrating a great play or cheering from the sidelines, all our students demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and were a true credit to our school. You should all be extremely proud of yourselves.
Our PE program wrapped up the term with a major focus on quick thinking, fast reactions, and high-energy team games.
Our Foundation, 1/2 and 3/4 students took their skills indoors to tackle the fast-paced world of Indoor Number Soccer. Played in the multi-purpose room, this game was all about sharp listening, sudden acceleration and close ball control. The students worked hard on "trapping" the ball safely with the soles of their shoes and using the inside of their feet to score goals.
Meanwhile, Years 5/6 headed out to the oval for a highly strategic game of AFL-Inspired Kickball. Combining the rules of baseball with foundational footy skills, students honed their drop-punts, practised secure chest and overhead marking and mastered the art of the quick, clinical handpass to get runners out at the bases. It was fantastic to see the students communicating defensively and utilising genuine tactical awareness on the diamond.
Kind regards, Tom Porter
