Tech 1, 2 Mentorship Program

MusicNT, in collaboration with E3 Productions, are launching the Tech 1, 2 Mentorship Program once again in 2024, and it's even bigger than before! Following the success of our pilot program in Darwin in 2023, we are excited to expand our reach to Mparntwe, Alice Springs this year.

The Tech 1, 2 Mentorship Program is designed to provide high school students with invaluable on-the-job training and experience in event production and audiovisual (AV) technology. We are proud to announce that Dreamedia and 8ccc Community Radio have joined us as mentoring partners, making this program an enriching and collaborative experience for all participants.

This mentorship provides paid on the job learning where students gain job-ready skills in lighting, sound, and all technical aspects required for event production.

RSVP for the GALLIPOLI SCHOLARS 2024

The Gallipoli Scholarship Fund seeks to perpetuate among young Australians an understanding of those enduring traditions of perseverance, courage, self-sacrifice and mateship that were established so indelibly in the cause of world peace at Gallipoli, and thereafter on other battlefields and peace operations. It helps inform and remind Australians of the sacrifices of those who served Australia in conflicts and peace operations, and thereby contributes to the future security of our nation and our national values of democracy, freedom, and the rule of law.

The Scholarship provides financial assistance to the most deserving and meritorious Australian applicants, commencing their first year of tertiary study at a University or TAFE at Degree, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level, in the year of application. In assessing suitability for an award, a 60% weighting applies to necessitous circumstances and a 40% weighting to educational merit. Currently, the Scholarship does not extend beyond one year.

Each Scholarship is now worth $6,000 tax free, paid in two tranches: the first in April at the presentation ceremony, and the second on successful completion of the first semester providing the recipient is continuing their studies at university or TAFE (the latter at Degree, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level).

Applications will close 28 Feb.

Become a Beanie Maker for the Alice Springs Beanie Festival!

From June 21 to 24, 2024, the Alice Springs Beanie Festival will be taking place, celebrating its 28th anniversary with the theme of "Listen to the Land."

Five hundred beanie makers (from around the globe) shall create some of the world's best headgear and 6600 beanies are expected to descend on the Araluen Arts Centre for four days of exhibitions, Indigenous workshops, textile classes, live music, homemade tucker and a whole lot of fun, joy, warmth and colour.

7000 visitors from around the world attend and join in the excitement in the hunt for that perfect beanie. Chief Beaniologist , Jo Nixon, says "This year's Festival will the best one ever. We are planning for a huge success, and we are blessed to be able to include beanie artists from the remote Indigenous Communities of Central Australia creating opportunities for some lovely cross-cultural sharing with visitors. And, of course, we won't pull it off without the 120 volunteers giving their time and love to our special event."

It's never too early to start preparing, so make sure to download entry forms for Beanie Central and the National Beanie Competition and order swingtags for your beanies. We're excited to see the unique and creative beanies that you come up with!
