The Power of a Personal Invitation

In a world of endless emails, notifications and social media updates, one thing remains true: nothing is more powerful than a personal invitation.
OPGA saw this firsthand at our 20, 30 and 40 Year Reunions this term, which welcomed more than 100 alumni and past staff to reconnect and celebrate their shared Peninsula Grammar experience. While OPGA coordinates these events, we know this strong attendance was largely thanks to our incredible Reunion Ambassadors.
Every successful reunion OPGA has hosted has had a few people behind the scenes who encourage others to attend, share information, and remind their peers why reconnecting matters. It is an informal role, but these ambassadors are powerful connectors who help transform a reunion from an alumni event into a meaningful gathering. We have seen that the strongest alumni communities are not built through mailing lists alone, although they certainly help; they are built through relationships and conversations.
As we look ahead to our 1, 5 and 10 Year Reunions in Term 4, bookings are now open at www.opga.com.au/events.
We are also now seeking Reunion Ambassadors for 2027. If you are from the Classes of 2026, 2022, 2017, 2007, 1997, 1987 or 1977, and enjoy bringing people together, we'd love to hear from you.
