What a wonderful Term 3 it has been!
There is so much to celebrate across the JMSS Music community, and we are thrilled to share some fantastic news with you.
Spring Concert – A Spectacular Evening!
Our Spring Concert was a tremendous success, with an incredible 150 students taking to the stage for a joyful evening of community music-making. The energy, commitment, and sheer talent on display was a credit to every performer and to the staff who supported them. Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate with us!
Gold at the Victorian School Music Festival!
We are absolutely delighted to congratulate the JMSS Concert Band on their outstanding achievement at the 2026 Victorian School Music Festival, where they were awarded a Gold Medal. This is a fantastic recognition of the hard work and dedication of every band member and their teachers. We are so proud of you all!
VCE Lunchtime Concerts
Our Lunchtime VCE Concerts are now up and running, giving our senior musicians a wonderful opportunity to perform and prepare ahead of their final recitals in October. We extend our very best wishes to all of our VCE musicians as they enter this important and exciting stage of their musical journey. You've got this!
Congratulations, Ms Nagai!
A huge congratulations to our wonderful string teacher, Ms Yuhka Nagai, on her recent performance at the Cube alongside Lior and the Murray River Fine Music Ensemble. It is a joy to have such inspiring and accomplished musicians as part of our team, and we hope the JMSS community will join us in celebrating this brilliant achievement!
Looking Ahead – Term 4
We have a beautiful end to the year in store, with some very special events on the horizon:
- Term 4 Piano Soirée (Lunchtime) – Thursday 15th October
- Term 4 VCE Unit 2 Soirée – Tuesday 20th October, 6:00pm
- Presentation Night – Tuesday 2nd December, Robert Blackwood Hall
Lunchtime Christmas Concert – Details to come, watch this space!
It promises to be a truly memorable end to what has already been an extraordinary year of music-making at JMSS. We look forward to sharing it all with you!
