Gala Day Term 4

The Year 9 Gala Day for Term 4 is being held on Tuesday 3rd of November (Week 5) at the South Pine Sporting Complex! 

Sports on offer include: 

- Beach Volleyball 

- Touch Football  

- Basketball  

- 7-aside Football/Soccer  

- Netball 

Forms will open and be emailed to Yr 9 students on Thursday Week 1 – T4 (08/10/2026) for selection of sport.

If you have any questions, please come and have a chat with the HPE staff in the sports hall. Year 9 students who did not sign up, it is a regular school day with your regular subject teachers. 

FUTSAL – State Championships

This week on Wednesday and Thursday we had our Open Boys & Open Girls compete in the Futsal State Championship at the Nissan Arena, Nathan. 

Over the past two days we have had two teams battling out against a range of schools from across the state in the School Futsal State Championships. This in itself is an achievement, as gaining entry to the competition requires success in the regional tournament which took place during Term 1. 

Our Opens Boys team showed great effort and determination against some very strong opposition. They played in tight, competitive games and were often inches away from gaining different results, resulting in them bowing out in the Round of 16 match. I am extremely proud of their efforts and resilience out on the court in what was an extremely competitive tournament.

Our Opens Girls team took a few games to find their groove. However, come the knockout games on Wednesday, they were a dominant force, playing with high energy, commitment and with a strong desire to show up for the team. They were a joy to watch and coach. 

This drive and teamwork was a major factor in their success in the knockout games, often proving the difference against a range of highly skilled and organised teams. This success led all the way to the Grand Final. The game did not start off perfectly, going down 1-0 in the first minute. From there, the girls banded together and kept showing up, earning a 3-1 victory to become the State Futsal Champions.

Well done on both our open Boys and Girls for an amazing 2-day competition!

District & Regional sport

Details are starting to come through for our 2027 Regional sport and please pay particular attention to the events that are occurring at the very start of 2027. A lot of these events do require nomination towards the end of 2026. 

Aquathlon and Triathlon are the first of these events, however the trail is also in 2026 for the 2027 championships. The link below and in the Met North Trial information letter have all the registration details. Please note the error in notice below – Trial dates are 10 & 11 October 2026 (rather than 2027 as stated)

Regional Trials – Upcoming

Please note, the Age Groups should be for the 2027 calendar year as these trials are in preparation for the 2027 Representative Sport season.
