The arrival of school holidays once again gives us a great opportunity to reflect upon another rigorous but enriching term, take stock of our progress and plan ahead to be ready and prepared for the start of our last term of the school year.

Launch Conference

On our student free day in September, our annual Launch Conference brought together more than 60 enthusiastic participants from surrounding schools for an exciting full-day program of student-led STEM workshops. Students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of hands-on activities, from flying drones and operating remote-control vehicles to investigating the fascinating world of chemistry and programming and building with robotics. Led by students for students, the workshops encouraged collaboration, creativity, problem-solving and a love of STEM, making for an engaging and memorable day of learning and discovery.

Road safety

As we begin again after the holidays, we ask everyone to take a little extra care around the school and surrounding roadways. With lots of students, families and cars on the move, it’s important that everyone stays alert and looks out for one another. Please remind your students to use designated crossings, think before acting and stay aware of their surroundings when walking or riding home from school. Thank you for helping us to maintain the safety of everyone in our school community each day as our students exit the school and make their way home for the afternoon.

Uniform and equipment reminders

The school holidays are a great opportunity for families to check that students have all the uniform items and learning equipment that they need and are ready for the new term. We kindly remind families that hair colour should remain a natural shade, without colourful highlights or dyes, and that excess jewellery should be removed before students arrive at school each day. Please also take a moment to check that school shoes meet the requirements outlined in our uniform policy, which can be found on the school website. Thank you for your support in helping our students return to school looking well-presented, prepared and ready for learning.

Assessment, reporting and external exam preparations

At the end of another rewarding term, we would like to thank our students for their continued enthusiasm, commitment and high level of engagement in their learning. Your hard work and positive approach have been wonderful to see. Academic reports will be issued at the end of Week 1 next term. We also wish our Year 12 students all the very best as they use the break to prepare for the challenge of their external examinations. Staff look forward to continuing to support their preparation through the External Exam Masterclasses being held shortly after the holidays.
