College Captains' Report

Hello Beaumaris Secondary College community, my name is Valentino and I am one of your Beaumaris Secondary College Captains. I wanted this role to make a difference in our school, to show my leadership skills and help build connections within our year levels. I have been at this school since Year 7 but decided to take an 18-month detour to Finland, where I lived, studied, and trained for the sport I love, athletics. I see myself as a respected individual around the school community and someone who is driven in all aspects of my life to get the most out of anything I do, whether it be school, sports or the little things throughout the day.
Hey Everybody! My name is Lily, and alongside Valentino, I am College Captain for 2025.
I sincerely hope everyone has had an enjoyable holiday and is feeling refreshed for the exciting year ahead.
A little bit about me:
I have lived in this area my entire life and went to Beaumaris Primary School before coming to Beaumaris Secondary in Year 7. I have spent the last 5 years here cultivating a passion for leadership, as well as finding an interest in science-based subjects. I have made some amazing friendships in my time here, and I am excited to spend this year getting to know new people, not just in my year level but throughout the school. In my spare time, I work as a lifeguard at the beach in both a paid and volunteer capacity. I have competed in Surf-Lifesaving my whole life (kind of like Nippers, but 100 times more intense).
Our Year 12 cohort is launching our year off with Year 12 camp, where we will talk about our goals for the year and how we can get the most out of this year whilst also making it a memorable experience. Year 12 Formal has also been a hot topic of conversation, as we are all preparing our dresses and suits, and making sure to book our ‘plus one’ interviews and tickets. The energy has been great in the Year 12 cohort as everyone is excited to be back and have a great year. In addition, the Senior Centre has been opened, and Unit 3 subjects are underway.
We wish you a year of overcoming challenges and success in all areas of your life and we look forward to updating the school community on events, Year 12 happenings, and everything else going on within our school throughout the year.
