Five Minutes with Ms Radford

Do you collect anything? 

Footy scarves. I go for St. Kilda, but I just love watching the footy.

Do you play a musical instrument? If so, which one?

I played the piano and the guitar when I was in high school and primary school, I can play the saints theme song!

How long have you worked at Beaumaris Secondary College?

I think this is my 6th year and I CRTed here for 6 months before that.

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?

I think Africa would be quite cool to visit, especially to see all the animals and do a safari.

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have?

To teleport, because I don’t like travelling, I’m very impatient.

Is there anyone who has influenced you as a teacher? In what way?

My Year 12 teacher is the reason I became a teacher myself his passion for helping and educating us really guided me to be that for someone else

Tell us about your family.

I have a sister and a nephew, and she actually found out she was pregnant 7 minutes before she had him. I have a younger brother and my mum is 1 of 9, so I have 5 1st cousins.

What book/tv series/podcasts are you into at the moment?

Always Grey's Anatomy, constantly re watching, I’m also watching The Night Agent 2 now.

What has been a highlight of your time at BSC?

Probably seeing my two Year 12 GOAL groups celebrate their graduation.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Probably seeing the small wins happening throughout the day.

What is your favourite animal and why?

I’m not really an animal person, but dogs.

What is your favourite movie?

Love Actually.

What is your favourite music?

The Top 40s.

What is your favourite sport to watch or play?

AFL to both.

What is your ideal way to unwind and relax?

Probably going to the beach and having a walk or a swim.

What was your favourite subject at school?

PE always.

What would you sing at karaoke night?

Bust A Move!

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

I’ve been to Bali 8 times, and I'm going again this year. 

Who would you like to swap places with for the day?

I think a surgeon because I wanted to be a doctor when I was younger.

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

Cameron Diaz.

Why did you choose to work at Beaumaris?

I CRTed for 6 months before I started here, so through the community and the students, I thought, “That’s where I want to work.”
