Year 7 2025

First Week of Secondary School

Congratulations to our Year 7 students on an amazing start to secondary school. Students participated in Keys to Success activities designed to help them understand the college’s CORE values and motto: 'Belong, Believe, Become'. Students also learned about our School Wide Positive Behaviour approach and how we use Teams and OneNote for learning.

Student reflections below!

Starting high school has been an incredible journey. Even though we have only just started, there have been so many exciting experiences, like getting our lockers - we got to create different combinations and organise them. When we received our computers, we set up OneNote, Teams and so much more. Even though it's only been four days, we have already formed so many amazing friendships. We are all so excited for the amazing opportunities and adventures ahead.

I have really enjoyed my first few days of high school.

Day 1:

I woke up nice and early to get ready and then walked to school feeling good. I liked getting my own locker and a device and also meeting people.

Day 2:

Friday already! During the day, we sorted out our belongings and got to know the school. At lunch, we played soccer.

Day 3:

We started our classes with different teachers, and at lunchtime, we sat and talked because it was super hot!

We are off to a great start!

Throughout our first few days of high school, we have experienced many mixed emotions and doubts about whether we will like it or not. We have created great friendships in only four days. From welcoming teachers to getting lost around the school, we are sure we can look back at these core Year 7 memories and laugh. We are excited for these thrilling next six years full of exuberant activities and adventures.

The first couple of days have been busy and a big, exciting experience for all of us. So far, we have loved having our GOAL Mentors throughout the first few days of Year 7 and can't wait to see where our journey takes us.
