Jump Rope for Heart Update!
Our school has been doing an incredible job taking part in the Jump Rope for Heart program! So far, we’ve raised an amazing $4,351 towards our fundraising goal of $7,000!!
We’ll continue skipping and fundraising until November 21st, so there’s still time to get involved and help us reach our target. Prizes will be awarded to our top fundraisers once the program wraps up.
Our Friday morning Skipping Club (8:30–8:50am) has been an absolute blast! It’s been wonderful to see so many students improving their fitness, learning new skills, and mastering some seriously impressive tricks. Keep up the amazing work, everyone - every skip counts!
🥋 Taekwondo Coaching
Thanks to our Sporting Schools Grant, our Year 1–6 students have been participating in a three-week Taekwondo program with Ben from Hall’s Taekwondo, Port Melbourne.
Students have just completed their three-week clinic and have been learning a range of amazing and practical skills. They’ve been focusing on footwork, front kicks, boxing technique, and how to block and defend effectively. Beyond the physical skills, students have also explored the importance of resilience and positive conflict resolution — using the right tone, body language, and eye contact to communicate respectfully and confidently.
It’s been fantastic to see students building their strength, focus, and confidence through this exciting martial arts experience!

Performing Arts News
Students across the school have been working enthusiastically in Performing Arts as we prepare for our End-of-Year Concert. Each year level is exploring music, rhythm, movement, and expression in ways that match their developmental stage and interests. We are excited to share some of the beautiful work happening in each class!
Prep 「もりのくまさん」 (The Bear in the Forest)
The Prep students are learning “Mori no Kuma-san,” a sweet story-song about a girl and a bear who meet in the forest. Although the girl runs away at first, thinking the bear is chasing her, the bear simply wants to return her lost earring. In the end, they sing and dance together happily. Students are enjoying acting out the story through expressive movement and joyful singing.
Year 1/2 「ともだちになろうよ」 (Let’s Be Friends)
The Year 1/2 students are singing “Tomodachi ni Narou yo,” a heartwarming song that celebrates friendship. The lyrics recall laughter, greetings, hugs, and fun times together, sharing the message: “Let’s always be friends.” The students sing the song with happy expressions and warm feelings.
Year 3/4AD 「太陽のサンバ」 (Sunny Samba)
The Year 3/4AD students are learning a lively samba-inspired song that expresses the excitement of a bright, sunny day. They are bringing the rhythm to life with hand gestures and percussion instruments, enjoying the uplifting and energetic atmosphere.
Year 3/4AC 「となりのトトロ」 (My Neighbor Totoro)
The Year 3/4AC students chose “Tonari no Totoro” by popular request! This beloved Studio Ghibli theme captures the magical world where Totoro appears. Students are working together to match the lyrics with gestures and movements, creating a performance full of imagination and charm.
Year 5/6A 伝統音楽とエイサー Okinawan Music and Eisa Dance
The Year 5/6A students are exploring traditional Okinawan music and the cultural meaning behind Eisa dance. This class expressed a strong wish to learn Eisa after not performing it during the school production. They are practicing the movements and rhythms with focus and enthusiasm as they bring this dynamic cultural art to life.
5/6B & 5/6C ピアニカ Melodica Ensemble Performance
The Year 5/6B and 5/6C students are learning to play melodies on the melodica.
- 5/6B: “Tonari no Totoro”
- 5/6C: “Yume wo Kanaete Doraemon”
Students are learning how to read music, keep steady timing, and play together as an ensemble. They are discovering the importance of listening to one another and performing as a team.
We are very excited to share their performances with you at the End-of-Year Concert. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. I am looking forward to seeing many of you on Thu 11 Dec from 2:45pm @ CPS!
