Celebrating Learning and Growth: NAPLAN 2026
We would like to congratulate our students on completing NAPLAN 2026 and thank our families and staff for the encouragement, preparation and support provided throughout the testing period. We are proud of the focus, effort and positive approach our students showed during the assessments.
NAPLAN provides valuable information about student learning in literacy and numeracy and contributes to how schools understand and monitor student progress over time. Alongside classroom assessments and teacher observations, it helps teachers gain insight into student learning and plan for continued growth.
At our College, student growth is measured using a range of information, including classroom assessments, teacher observations, student work samples and standardised assessments such as NAPLAN and Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT). This combined approach allows teachers to be responsive, identify strengths, plan targeted support, and extend students appropriately. Growth looks different for every learner, and progress is measured from each student’s individual starting point
Families play an important role in supporting learning beyond the classroom. Talking with your child about their learning doesn’t need to focus on just the assessments, instead, meaningful conversations can help build confidence, reflection and motivation. You might consider asking your child:
- What learning have you felt most proud of recently?
- What did you find challenging, and how did you work through it?
- What strategies helped you when something felt tricky?
- What are you looking forward to learning next?
These conversations reinforce that learning is a journey, built through effort, persistence and curiosity.
Thank you again to our students for their focus and resilience, to our staff for their careful preparation and support, and to our families for partnering with us in supporting student learning. We look forward to continuing to celebrate the growth and achievements of our students throughout the year.
