Who's who in Leadership...

Hi! If we haven’t met yet, I’m Emily Chlebica, the Numeracy Leader at St Luke’s and the classroom teacher for 3/4 Teal. I am passionate about helping students build confidence and developing strong foundations in mathematics. In my Numeracy leadership role, I work closely with teachers to support effective teaching practices and promote consistent approaches to mathematics across the school. I aim to inspire students to discover the enjoyment in mathematics and support them in reaching their full potential!

Whilst many of you know me as Clare- the principal here at St Luke's, there may be some

little known facts you don't know about me. I grew up in a family with nine siblings and parents who inspired me in their strong faith, their capacity to be resilient and were such caring, compassionate members of their local community. In a former life, l studied to be a Visual Merchandiser (or window dresser), working for the Syndicate chain of boutiques but education had a much stronger calling.

After 38 years working in schools, l still feel just as passionate about helping children grow into the very best, happiest and kindest people they can be. I see my role as Principal as a ministry of service where l can align my faith with my learning and my hopes for a bright future for all. I really love, and feel very proud, that every child is known and loved. For me, St Luke's is MY school of choice and l couldn't be happier.

Athletics Clinics with Australian Athletics

Over the past three weeks, all St Luke’s students have been lucky enough to undergo an athletics clinic through Australian Athletics during their PE classes. The students have been working on their fundamental skills to improve their running, jumping and throwing. The skills and activities completed during these clinics helped the students prepare for the cross-country school event at the end of February. It has also been helping them prepare for our upcoming Twilight Sports Carnival in the first week of Term 2. We will continue to build on the skills learnt from this clinic for the rest of this term.

Introducing SiSi Zhang- LSO

I'm Sisi Zhang. I'm very pleased to join St Luke the Evangelist as a LSO. It's such a beautiful and friendly school that I look forward to being a part of.  I previously worked at St Francis Xavier Primary School in Box Hill as a casual LSO.

I enjoy being a mum of two boys, Ryan in year 3 and Ryder in year 1. We speak both English and Mandarin at home. Doing handcrafts is my hobby and I'm quite good at paper cutting. Sometimes I film and edit my paper cutting videos and share them on social

 media.  Thank you very much!
